ZANESVILLE, Ohio- With just six days left to blaze the campaign trail many candidates are making their rounds to many counties throughout the state to try to secure the vote.

Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor made her second stop in Zanesville, Wednesday, visiting Bryan Place where voters got an opportunity to ask her questions directly. Taylor said this is part of the “Mary Taylor Made Tough Tour” where she has hosted over 170 events in 71 counties since March 2nd.

“We’re inviting voters to come over and, you know, hear us make a few comments and then of course take their questions. We believe it’s important that in this Republican primary that voters be informed. So that’s what we’re here to do,” said Taylor.

While the Democratic Party has held debates, Taylor said she and her opponent did not do any which leaves the Republican Party burning with questions. Taylor said she is the candidate the party can count on to get the job done.

“As Governor, I will make it my responsibility to foster the economic opportunity that exists in the eastern and southeastern part of our state,” said Taylor. “As opposed to, unfortunately, as our current Governor has done, called for higher severance taxes, which would absolutely halt all of the opportunity that exists in this region of the state.”

Taylor went on to say she will oppose any additional taxes on the energy industry and find ways to continue to grow Southeast Ohio. Taylor will face Mike DeWine in the primary election on May 8th.
