Limited Service Returns to John McIntire Library

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Additional progress is being made each day at the John McIntire Library.
Now that the Mini-Mac portion of the library has been closed so that renovations can be made to the Carnegie Wing, Muskingum County Library System Marketing and Community Relations Director Sean Fennell explains how the Shinnick Street entrance and parking are being reutilized to channel public access much like it was before the renovations began.
“We are excited to announce that we are open for curbside only,” Fennell said. “And what that means is that the John McIntire library building is still closed to the public; however, we’re able to reopen our services just a little bit to provide curbside to our patrons. So you’re going to park right there in that south parking lot right off Shinnick Street and then you’re going to dial our phone number (740) 453-0391 and then dial zero and then one of our library staff members will be able to help get your holds and bring them right out to you.”
Curbside services that are being offered are checking out hold items, accepting returns and performing limited printing and copying services. The printing services are limited to 10 pages per day per patron, so if you need more extensive services, Fennell recommends dropping by one of the branch libraries to have those tasks completed.
“During this time as well we encourage people to possibly check out one of the branch libraries. And you can have your holds transferred temporarily out to one of our branch libraries or even to our Mall Outreach Stop as well. If you’re up on the north end,” Fennell said.
All locations of the Muskingum County Library System will be closed Monday, January 19th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the John McIntire Library renovations are expected to be completed sometime this spring.
