Linda Carpenter

Linda Kay (Jefferis) Carpenter, age 74 of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Ohio State James Cancer Center in Columbus. She was born on December 24, 1951 in Cambridge, a daughter to the late John V. Jefferis and Wilma Ruth (Jones) Jefferis.

Mrs. Carpenter was a 1970 graduate of Cambridge High School. She worked at Bank One in Cambridge for over 19 years before beginning her career at Cambridge City Schools as executive secretary. She retired in January 2025 after over 30 years of service.

Linda’s greatest joy was taking care of the people she loved. Her kitchen was the heart of her home. Cooking and baking were some of the many ways she showed her family how much they meant to her.

Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved buying them presents and made each and every holiday beyond special. She supported them at all their events. She was their biggest fan, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on.
She particularly enjoyed Cambridge Bobcat Sporting events.

She enjoyed traveling with her family to Florida and Tennessee. Going to the casino with friends and shopping were some of her favorite things to do.

Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mike C. Carpenter, they were married on September 4, 1971; their children Aaron (Audra) Carpenter and Kelly (John) Dunning; grandchildren, Blake (Trevor) Arnett, Kirstin (Tommy) Moore, Laney Carpenter, Ryan Dunning and Garrett Carpenter; a great granddaughter Sophie Arnett; and a brother Rick (Barb) Jefferis.

Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm and on Thursday, October 22, from 10am to 11am with services beginning at 11am. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Cambridge Athletic Boosters 518 South 8th Street Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
