Linda’s Sweets opens as Zanesville’s newest bakery

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- There’s a new bakery in town.

Linda Sprankle opened the doors to her bakery self-titled Linda’s Sweets last Monday; a day she has been dreaming about since she was a young girl.

“I started baking when I was 10 or 12 and it’s just kind of been a big thing,” said Sprankle. “It took me a long time to tweak a lot of recipes and kind of get things where I wanted to be at.”

Linda’s Sweets is located at 973 Linden Avenue, the same location as former bakery ‘Simply Sweets’ that closed their doors a few months ago.

“I was a home baker for awhile and then I found this place and decided to jump on in and kind of live my dream,” said Sprankle.

Though her bakery is opening in the same location as a former one, Sprankle said she plans on bringing her own fresh flair.

“Everything I make here is homemade, it’s made from scratch daily, unlike any chain restaurant that you’re going to go to,” said Sprankle. “That’s why I do it, I like to do something different I want to have things that you can’t find at other chain places or anywhere around.”

She prides her bakery on the rotating variety of unique products such as her homemade pop tarts.

Linda’s Sweets is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
