Linden Avenue construction update

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- If you travel Linden Avenue then chances are you’ve noticed the construction.
Zanesville Public Service Director, Jay Bennett, said the road is being paved in stages in addition to a water line replacement.
“They are replacing a water line on the southern part of Linden Avenue coming off the Y Bridge and then they took the next step to get from McIntire to Adair,” said Bennett.
But he said that he understands the frustration that comes with construction zones.
“It’s uncomfortable, it’s hard; those two projects have caused a lot of problems for people trying to drive it everyday to get home, to get to work on time,” said Bennett. “We just ask [everyone] to slow down. We’re working hard to keep it passable, we know it’s gross but hang in there.”
However, the end is near. Bennett said they anticipate the work will be done by the mid to latter part of May.
Once the water line replacement is complete, he said repavement is scheduled to begin shortly after.
“We have the paving company set up, the money has already been appropriated to come from Adair all the way out to Taylor and repave the entire section,” said Bennett.
Bennett said once it’s finished, Linden Avenue will be a new, improved road for travel.
The city wants to remind drivers the importance of taking extra time to observe work safety zones to keep everyone safe.
