Lion’s Club hosts 12th Car Show

Classic hot rods, new sports cars and even a golf cart gathered in one place for the 12th annual Lion’s Club Car Show May 23.

The event took place at the Coburn United Methodist Church in Zanesville. People could view around 40 cars and President of the Lion’s Club Dave Delancey said there wasn’t a shortage of variety in the cars.

“New ones, old ones we’ve got a motorcycle [tricycle] up today,” said Delancey. “Got a golf cart type, it’s licensed. So it varies, we’ve got a little bit of everything. ”

Part of the money raised at the event will aid those who are in need of eye glasses. The club also helps people who are struggling financially with other essentials. Delancey said that it’s important to help those in need.

“Well there’s a lot of people that fall into a group from income level is low and they don’t really like to beg for anything but they know the Lion’s Club does furnish glasses for people so they will get a hold of us and we’ll try to help them out,” said Delancey. “I think it’s a well worthy cause.”

The Lion’s Club hopes to raise their goal of $1,000.
