Little Mermaid Junior Wraps Up Production

Young adults took to the stage for the final time with their rendition of a classic from under the sea Sunday.

Practice for the Little Mermaid Junior began back in mid-July and 38 kids ranging from ages five to 18 starred in the production. Co-Director Sarah Gantzer said the production gave the young cast a chance to grow as actors.

“Disney is very special to us so we obviously wanted to do something like that together and just seeing the kids have fun together and learn together and just enjoy this experience with each other and go through the process of learning what it takes to put on such a big show is just really sparkly,” said Gantzer.

Member of the cast Julia Gantzer said she enjoyed the experience and explains her role in the musical.

“My part is ‘Sebastian’ and he’s a Jamacian crab who…he’s kind of bossy and wants Ariel to stay under the sea with him,” said Gantzer. “It’s so much fun. I like all the people here and I like to act too.”

Murder mystery ‘Murder on the Nile’ is the theater’s next show, debuting just in time for Halloween. For more details about upcoming shows you can visit zct.org.
