Local Artists Gear up for First Friday Showcase
Hundreds of local artists are preparing for the start of the First Friday Art Walk.
Each artist at the ZAAP gallery is able to showcase two new paintings that will be on display for the entire month. The theme right now is songs of Christmas.
“You can use other than snow scenes and winter scenes, but you’ll see most of that in this show,” said Gary Graham of ZAAP. “We have acrylic artists, pen and pencil, we have water color artists, oil and we have photographers.”
There are 24 participating galleries. Graham said this event is unique and fun, and explained that the artists are very approachable.
“The atmosphere is a very friendly atmosphere, and it’s just fun,” Graham said. “If you see the artist here, or if you don’t know, just ask if there are any of the artists here, and they can point them out for you. You can go up and introduce yourself and say, ‘Hey show me your work and tell me about it.”
The event kicks off December 4th at 5 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. and is open to the public.
