Local Attraction is all about Snoopy

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Are you up to the challenge of tackling this year’s McDonald’s corn maze?
The popular fall attraction is set to open it’s 12th year this weekend. Those coming out to McDonald’s farm will have a chance to try to navigate their way through a giant Snoopy sitting on his dog box.
James McDonald and his wife spend up to two and a half hours cutting the corn into the interactive maze.
“We lay the corn out in 20 foot squares when we plant it. So every 20 feet there’s a flag in the field and that’s like a piece of grid paper, so we draw whatever our diagram will be on grid paper and then every point is a flag in the field,” explained Co-owner of McDonald’s Farm James McDonald.
Along with the hay ride and other familiar attractions new this year is a path cut through a field of soy beans for those too nervous to tackle the corn maze. They’ve also added a gaga pit, which is a game similar to dodge ball along with a pedal tractor course.
“I want everyone to be able to enjoy the farm and walking through the woods and walking through the corn and going on a hay wagon ride. Things that I grew up with and probably took for granted when I was a kid. I want everybody to be able to enjoy those same activities,” said McDonald.
McDonald’s corn maze is open Saturdays from 10am-7pm and Sundays from 12-6pm until October 31. They’re open during the week by appointment.
The farm is located at 3220 Adamsville Road in Zanesville. Cost is $7 for those 3 and up.
