Local Band Will Host a Music Marathon for Underprivileged Youth

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Local artists are using their talents to help brighten Christmas for less fortunate children.

Oilers Sports Bar will be hosting a music marathon called the Ol’ Dirty Christmas Charity Jam on December 5. This event is organized by Ol’ Dirty Strangers, Oilers Sports Bar and Buck Daddy Productions. Six bands are set to perform to raise money for kids in an after school program. Ol’ Dirty Strangers Band member, Chaz Mcclure stresses the importance of this event.

“There is about 70 children enrolled in Lifewell currently, and each Christmas season they buy each child a $25 gift” Chaz McClure said. “We are just trying to help compensate that a little bit this year.”

Ol’ Dirty Strangers band member, Brandon Middleton said the live music will begin at noon and last until 1 am. Along with the tunes there will be an auction and raffle. Oilers Sports Bar will have specials on drinks and food.

“It will be nice to see some people do some good and come out and have some fun, support something other than themselves,” said Brandon Middleton.

Admission for this event is $15 or a combination of $5 cash with a $10 toy donation. All proceeds go to Lifewell Youth Ministry. Oilers Sports Bar and Grill is located at 147 North Maysville Avenue.
