Local Banker Celebrates 45 Years of Service
One local banker is being recognized for his 45 years of service to the community.
Tom Lyall began his career with Century National Bank March 23rd of 1971 — It was known as Mutual Federal Savings Bank at the time. He said since he began working with the bank, there have been good and tough times, but having the right people on his team is what gets him through each day.
"Well it’s one on those things that sneaks up to you. When you’re doing what you love with people that you really like and worked with for a while it’s really just a joy. It’s not a job, it’s a joy," said Lyall.
At 25 years old, Lyall started out as a coin washer at Century National Bank, and worked his way up to being President and CEO. He now serves as Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors. Lyall said he started working at Century National because of the longevity of it’s employees and customers. A value that he makes sure to continue.
"If your people are happy, then your customers are happy. That’s how you get good customer service. That’s what we work on," said Lyall.
Lyall said he continues to look forward to servicing the community.
