Local Business Prepares for Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend Celebration

The 2nd Annual Veteran’s Appreciation weekend is only two weeks away and one local business is gearing up for the festivities.
General Manager of Fink’s Harley Davidson, Troy Fink said the purpose of this weekend long event is to raise funds to send veterans that can not afford the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Fink’s said last year they raised over $15,000 and this year they plan to exceed that amount. The event will feature a poker run, golf outing and live music at Terry’s Tavern.
"It’s all one big weekend it’s called the Veterans Foundation Weekend. It all ties together, starting Friday when the Honor Flags comes to town, Saturday with the poker run and then the party on the river. Sunday we go out to Green Valley for a golf outing," said Fink.
Fink said it’s a good feeling to be able to give back to the vets in return for all of their hard-work and dedication to this country.
"It’s perfect to give back to a great cause such as the Honor Flight, the Flags of Honor and the Wounded Warriors Project to give back to our veterans that have given so much for us," said Fink.
The Veteran’s Appreciation weekend will take place June 10th, 11th and 12th, don’t forget to mark your calendar’s.
