Local Business Supports “Toys for Tots”
Each year, ‘Toys for Tots’ provides millions of gifts to less fortunate children across the country.
A local business is doing its part to help in the effort to serve needy kids in our community. North Valley Bank on Maple Avenue will be used as a drop-off location for this year’s toy drive. Bank employee, Katie Clewell, said the branch was eager get involved.
“This is important to us, because as an office, we have a soft spot for kids, and if anyone deserves a good Christmas, it’s kids,” Clewell said.
‘Toys for Tots’ accepts new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations. Muskingum County Coordinator for ‘Toys for Tots,’ Opal Lambert, said last year the program distributed more than 5,000 toys to underprivileged children in Muskingum County. She told us a little more about their mission.
“Helping the kids, making Christmas magical, giving hope to children that otherwise would not have it,” Lambert said.
To donate to ‘Toys for Tots,’ there will be a drive-thru drop-off November 7, at North Valley Bank on Maple, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. If you can’t make it, the bank will also be accepting donations, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
