Local Elementary School Threatened

Students at Zane Grey Elementary were temporarily evacuated after a possible bomb threat Friday.

The Zanesville Police Department as well as the Zanesville Fire Department responded to the call just before noon. Students and faculty were evacuated and the building was searched. Some units remained on scene until 1 p.m.

ZPD ruled the threat a false alarm and students were able to return to class. The incident remains under investgation at this time. We reached out to Zanesville City Schools Superintendent Doug Baker but he was unavailable for comment.
