Local first responders walked 3 miles in honor of 9/11

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The nation is remembering the lives that were lost 17 years ago today during the attacks on 9/11.
Local first responders are honoring their brothers and sisters who sacrificed their lives to help protect ours. Captain Chas Cosgrave from Newton Township Fire and EMS, said he wanted the community to get together to show their support for the brave lives that were lost.
“This was a very impromptu thing, very last minute, this was just something that I posted to my close friends and family on social media and people just kept showing up and showing up,” explained Captain Cosgrave. “I definitely have been impressed with the support and this is going to be an annual thing I think after this.”
Over 20 first responders from different stations joined together in full uniform to walk 3 miles in honor of the fallen heroes. Captain Cosgrave said it’s about coming together as a family.
“It’s a commitment,” said Captain Congrave. “It’s a commitment to our family, not just to remember them, but to show brothers and sisters who came out today that their important to us and that we’re here to support them.”
Captain Cosgrave wants to thank everyone who came out to participate.
