Local Fundraiser Donates $10,000

Christmas came early today for six local non pro-fit organizations.

Fellowship of Christ’s Community, Catholic Social Services, Community Build, Eastside Community Ministry, Muskingum County Center for Seniors and the Salvation Army got a nice size check this morning from the 13th annual Souper Bowl benefit. Each organization received $1,650. Co-chair of the fundraiser Marcy White says she’s thankful they had such a wonderful turn out of volunteers.

"Zanesville’s a great community and the reason it’s such a great community is because we can come together," Macy White said.

More than 100 volunteers helped before, during and after the event this year, coming from all parts of the community. The benefit luncheon fed more than 900 people in four hours and raised almost ten $10,000. The goal of this fundraiser was to bring local churches together to work on a common project and to raise money for the local non profits.
