A local organization hopes to bring more diversity to Muskingum County

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Members of the Minority Business Resource Network also met with county commissioners Monday.
MBRN CEO and President, Ernest E. Bynum, Co-founder Ernest A. Bynum, and member Troy Walker spoke to commissioners to discuss county job opportunities for minorities.
“Throughout the county we don’t see a big amount of minorities,” Ernest A. Bynum said. “Our organization wants to work with the county commissioners. Hold them accountable and have them hold us accountable. We are going back into the minority community gather people together and get them ready to work.”
Ernest A. Bynum said having minorities working county jobs is important because it’s a true representation of our community.
“It’s a make up of our community. It’s not good when you go into a community and you don’t see minorities or diversities from people from different backgrounds engaged in the majority of the community. It just brings the community closer together when we have racial harmony,” Bynum said.
Bynum said the commissioners appeared to be very receptive during their meeting. MBRN is excited to start working more hands on with the commissioners to bring more diversity to Muskingum County.
