Local Reaction to Obama’s Health Care

President Barack Obama’s health-care plan is getting a mix of approval and criticism.

Muskingum County Resident Lynda King says Obama never answered a critical questionfor her approval.

“He never really gave an answer,” said King. “If he doesn’t want the same healthcare for his family, then i don’t want it either for my kids.”

Other residents are just happy to see something being done.

“When he got into office there was so much wrong that he’s gotta do something. He trying,” said Jimmie Gee. “I don’t really know if they’ll get it worked out or not. They’re sure trying to. We need something done. The health care in this country needs something changed.”

“I think he’s really trying,” said Roberta Gee. “He’s got a big job on his hands. I think he’s doing well.”

But, others can’t help but be skeptical of Obama’s plan.

“I just think it’s kind of political or something,” said King. “I don’t know that we’re going to gain, I think maybe he’s going to gain more than we are.”
