Local Soldier Surprises His Mother
A local soldier returned to Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl Today.
Not for the ice cream but to surprise his mom who works there. United States Marine Corps artillery gunman Corporal Harley Wilson was excited to be back after serving abroad for over nine months. He says surprising his mom was the first thing he wanted to do.
“When I first saw her, her eyes just glazed over and I was just like “yeah i got her” and she was just so happy,” said Corporal Harley Wilson, United States Marines.
Smiles in every corner at Tom’s as the happy family had their unexpected reunion. Mother and son were finally able to embrace each other once again and share a few heartfelt tears.
“I’m happy, happy I can’t describe just relieved he’s back in the states. I’m really proud of Harley. He’s come a long way. He’s my baby. I’m just thankful that he made it home safe and he’s good,” said Corporal Wilson’s mom, Kathy Wilson.
Corporal Wilson will only be home for two weeks before he has to redeploy to camp Pendleton in California. In the mean time he can’t wait to eat some of his mom’s delicious home cooking, and she says that she’s just as exited to get to cook for him.
