ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The owner of a local veterinary clinic met with the Muskingum  County Commissioners office this afternoon.

Brian Williams, owner of “All About the Animals” veterinary clinic, has been working with the commissioners for about a year on a partnership that he hopes will result in happier, healthier dogs.

“We’re working on developing a discounted vaccine and treatment program for the dogs at the dog pound. Try to proactively get them on track to being adopted a little bit sooner, and a little bit healthier, and help them with discounted spades and neuters for those dogs,” said Williams.

The partnership has not been without some struggles though as working many different groups can often cause breakdowns in communication.

“It’s a complicated process, we’re dealing with multiple groups and it’s trying to get those groups all aligned and on the same page. We’re dealing with commissioners, the employees of the shelter, and then two volunteer groups as well as the staff at my veterinary clinic. So we’re just trying to get everyone on the same page because our ultimate goal is to just help these dogs,” added Williams.

Williams says the dogs they treat come from the Muskingum County Dog Pound and are usually sent to their new home, or returned to the pound, the same day that treatment is performed.
