Locals take advantage of record temps

Zanesville, Ohio- Locals are taking advantage of record temperatures.

Temperatures surged into the upper 70s in Zanesville today. That is over 30 degrees above average for February and something that is usually not seen until late May and early June. Local residents were enjoying the weather at Zane’s Landing. Scott Kinney was thrilled to get out of the house for a warm bike ride.

“Yeah I just thought I would get out and enjoy the weather you know ride the bike. It’s better than being crammed up in the house I mean where its cold maybe you know why not get out and enjoy the weather. It’s a relief, it is a relief, you know trying to keep warm whenever its real cold is hard to do but whenever its warm you can get out and enjoy yourself.”

Doctor David Calvin was also enjoying a bike ride but struggled with the breezy conditions.

“Normally I go to the gym and lift weights but I told my wife I said no its too nice of a day I’m gonna go bike riding and I was doing great that way. Coming back I was hit with the wind and at one point the wind actually stopped me.”

The warmth is not here to stay unfortunately and temps will drop nearly 50 degrees by Saturday night.
