Longaberger to Move Out of Big Basket Building
Some big news from Longaberger as the iconic "Big Basket Building" in Newark will soon sit empty.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, the Longaberger Company is moving its remaining staff at the Newark headquarters to office space at the manufacturing plant in Frazeysburg.
C.E.O. John Rochon Jr. says the move will take place over the next couple of weeks to bring employees together in a centralized location so that they will no longer have to shuttle back and forth between the two locations.
The seven story, 180,000 square foot basket building first opened in 1997 when the company was seeing sales around $1 billion and employing over 8,000 people. After slumping sales, the company now has just over 200 employees.
No word yet on what will happen to the building.
