Longtime Educator Trafford Dick Passes Away

A well known local educator has passed away.

88-year-old Trafford Dick of Zanesville died Friday at his home.

He served in the Zanesville City School District for 38 years including the District’s Superintendent for 4 years.  He was inducted into the Zanesville City School Hall of Fame in 2011.

He also taught classes in education at Ohio University Lancaster, Ohio University Zanesville and Muskingum University.

Dick was an organizer of the Biddy Football program of Zanesville. He refereed for more than 30 years in football and basketball.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 5  from 2:00  to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00  to 8:00  pm at the Bolin Dierkes Funeral Home on Blue Avenue and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held on Wednesday, April 6  at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church on Dresden Road.

He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
