Lora F. Smith

Lora F. Smith, age 88, of Zanesville, died following a lengthy illness at 3:00 AM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Thursday, February 23, 1933 in Zanesville,   the daughter of Ralph Ditter and Opal (Gobel) Ditter. She was married on September 28, 1951 to Paul Smith who preceded her in death on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

Lora was a member of the Norval Park Church of Christ, where she enjoyed going with her husband Paul and helping prior to services. Lora retired from United Technologies on Linden Ave.  after a lifetime of service. After retirement, she also worked for Bath Fitters of Zanesville for 10 years in sales.

Lora is survived by her son Mark Smith, seven grandchildren, Jenna Smith, Michael Smith, Tony Smith, Loralie Smith, Nikki Sorgi, Mandi Saunders, and Mariah Smith. Lora also has several great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lora was preceded in death by her husband Paul H. Smith, sister, Deloris (Richard) Murphy, brother Ralph (Garnet) Ditter and son Paul R. Smith.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH.   Where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Lora will be buried beside her beloved husband in the Rose Hill Cemetery Roseville.
