Loren D. Long, 76, of Zanesville, and formerly of Hopedale, OH, passed away January 26, 2025, at Genesis Morrison House.
The son of William E. Long and Cornelia (Connie) J. Romans Long. He was born May 23, 1948, in Steubenville, OH.
Loren served his country in the Ohio Army National Guard for over 20 years. He entered the guard in January 1967 at Det. 1 BTRYC 2/174 ADA BN and retired as a Platoon Sergeant and NCOIC of DET. 1, BTRYC 21174ADA BN in May of 1988. He was employed at Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in January of 1967 in Steubenville, OH, and retired after 32 years of service in Zanesville, OH as an engineer with Ameritech. Loren was a paid-up life member of American Legion Post 29, VFW Post 1058.
He is survived by his mother, Corneila (Connie) J. Long; love of his life, Connie Watton; daughters, Krisda (Dusty) Kinsey, Tricia (Bo) Touville; step-son, Heath (Tonya) Watton; grandchildren, Guy (Sydney) Long, Casey (Emily) Kinsey, Kelci (Hagen Meservy) Kinsey, Madison Watton, Drew Watton; great-grandchildren, Ella Long, Ava Long, Mya Long, Gia Long.
He was preceded in death by his father William E. Long; sister Joyce Long; brother Keith Long.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date; the family will post the information on Loren’s Facebook page once services have been scheduled.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all of Genesis Morrison House Hospice staff for all their care for Loren.
