Lost Treasures

Can’t find that perfect Christmas gift? Tomorrow is your last chance to go to Colony Square Mall for their craft and collectible hobby show.

Vendor Tammy King from West Virginia makes custom made jewelry that she says are lost treasures.

"Its heirloom quality pieces that have been broken and its all antique, vintage quality. I recycle it, I take it apart, and harvest anything that I can and give it new life by turning it into a new old piece that still has that heirloom quality," said King.

For five years, King has been making jewelry using recycled valuables such as shell casings, old watches, and cameos.  She says by doing this, she has the opportunity to give these pieces a new life.

"To maintain greenness through the recycling effort, I am taking computers and cutting up the boards. This is actually memory; this is part of the circuit board and a crystal and turned it into a pendant," said King.

If you are unable to make it to the craft show, you can purchase King’s jewelry by visiting her website at www.kat-jewels.com.
