Louella Mae Dennis, 92, of Zanesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Louella was born in New Concord on May 14, 1931, to Cora and Lester Riley. In addition to her parents, Louella is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard L. Dennis; son, Richard D. Dennis; granddaughter, Ashley L. Dennis; brothers, Ronnie Riley, Donnie Riley and Everett Riley; special friends, Kay Layton and Wanda Dailey.

Louella leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Brenda (Jamie) Layton; grandchildren, Amber Dennis, Michael (Pennie) Adams, Chris (McCenzie) Dennis, Kelly (Justin) Joseph, Austin Adams, Heather (Shardai) Layton and Jay (Amy) Layton; several great grandchildren as well as several great-great grandchildren; 2 fur babies, Bonnie and Clyde; as well as many other friends and family.

Louella was a lover of music and in her younger days loved to play the guitar. She was an avid Willie Nelson fan. She enjoyed life and loved everyone in it. She was very intuitive and stubborn at times but a lover over everything else. She was a member of Norval Park Church of Christ. Louella was also a woman of many skills, which includes song writing, book writing and being an excellent cook. She will be missed by all that knew her.

You may call on the family on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. with funeral services starting at 12 p.m. at Burrell Funeral Services is Zanesville, Mark Tonkery will be officiating. Burial will follow funeral services in Irrville Cemetery. Following the burial the family invites everyone for a meal at the VFW in Putnam and asks those attending to bring a dish of choice.
