Louis Fridley

Louis Edward Fridley, 85, of Roseville, Ohio, passed away at 1:26 p.m. Friday May 8, 2026 at AlterCare of Somerset.

Louis was born on April 5, 1941, in Washington County, Ohio. He was a devoted family man whose greatest joy in life was the time he spent with those he loved. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, caring heart, sense of humor, and the lasting impact he made on his family and friends throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna (Forrest) Carte; his grandparents, Isaiah Bailey and Lottie G. Bailey; his first wife, Mary Ellen Fridley; his children, Jeff Fridley and Linda (Floyd) Lynch; siblings Roger (Janice) McCraw and Jane Sharon; and numerous beloved extended family members.

Louis is survived by his wife, Shirley Fridley; his siblings, Curtis (Delores) Carte and Donald (Alice) Carte; his daughter-in-law, Marcy (Jeff) Fridley, his grandchildren, Cheyenne (Cody) Morgan, Amber (Jonathan) Fridley-Moore, and Jill (Chris) Fridley-Coulles; and his great-grandchildren, Elliana, Cohen, Colton, Charlotte, and Julian, his cousins, Gene (Linda) Davis, Judy (Jeff) Miller, and Sue (Kenny) Scoles, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to those previously mentioned, he was preceded in death by his aunts and uncles, Roberta “Bertie” Davis, Samuel (Ann) Bailey, Charles (Nell) Bailey Sr., Thomas Bailey, Daniel Bailey, and Margaret Peterman, and cousins Thomas Davis, Gloria (Gay) Davis-Smith, Debbie Pettit, Samuel Bailey, Danny Bailey, Jeffrey Bailey, and Charles Andrew Bailey Jr.

Louis was also loved dearly by Shirley’s family, the residents and staff at AlterCare of Somerset and his friends at Ebenezer Church in Roseville, and many others who will miss him dearly.

Louis leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication to family. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love carried forward by those who knew him.

Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday May 11, 2026 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 12, 2026 with additional calling one hour prior to the service. Bruce Gebhart officiating and burial will follow in Mount Perry Cemetery.
