Mabel E. Conant

Mabel E. Conant, 77, of Zanesville, died 10:54 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2021, in the care of the Genesis Hospice Morrison House, where she passed peacefully. She was born in 1943 in Mt Alto, WV, and married Carl L. Conant in 1977.

Mabel was a homemaker and a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She had a deep faith in her Lord and Savior, and enjoyed worshiping and sharing the word of God in many churches. She especially enjoyed worship at Miracle Hill in Lancaster and following Evangelist Gary Clum.

Mabel is survived by her three children: Monta S. Johnson of Clarington, Elizabeth I. Conant of Columbus, and Daniel O. Conant of San Antonio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Thornton; and two sisters, Patricia Fetty and Nancy Roderick.

In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl L. Conant, her son, Steve Conant, and two sisters, Freda Stump and Virginia Paskins.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Darren “Dusty” Tolbert officiating. Burial will conclude in the Poplar Fork Cemetery Gratiot.
