Mable Clapper (January 25, 1934 – February 16, 2012)

Mable Bennett Clapper 78, of Zanesville, died at 11:21 AM Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born January 25, 1934 in New Straitsville, Ohio to the late Smiley Bennett and Hettie Keiffer Bennett.

Mable retired from Zandex after many years of service. She attended Westwood Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Post 29 Ladies Auxiliary; She was a caring person who always put others first, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Living life to the fullest she remained very active and enjoyed every single day.

Mable was the loving mother of Theresa (Bryan) Kanavel devoted grandmother of Gregory Kanavel, whom she cherished. Beloved sister to Esther Patterson, Vera Lytle, and Jake (Nancie) Bennett. She also enjoyed spending time and laughing with her many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents Mable is preceded in death by her husband, Chris Clapper, who she married September 17, 1954, her son: Gregory Chris Clapper, and siblings Vaughn, June, Alberta, Cecil, Wayne, Ervin and Bobby.

The family is being served by the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME 2318 Maple Ave. where visitation will be 4:00– 8:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2012. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday February 20, 2012 with Pastor Mark Ballmer officiating. Mable will be laid to rest next to her husband and son at the Washington Township Baptist Cemetery.
