Major Shoplifting Attempt at Gabriel Brothers
One person is in custody and one still on the loose after a major attempt at shoplifting.
It happened at about 3 p.m. at the Gabriel Brothers store on Maple Avenue.
According to the Zanesville Police, the Loss and Prevention Department at the store had a 40-year old Zanesville man in custody after an attempt to steal merchandise in excess of $500 dollars. The department says that constitutes a felony grand theft charge.
The name of the suspect will not be released until formally charged. He is currently in the Zanesville City Jail.
The situation remains under investigation.
