Makeovers & Mentorship: Zanesville’s Merle Norman Teams Up with BBBSZ to Empower Girls
ZANESVILLE, OH – Makeup, mentorship, and a mission to empower. Merle Norman is teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville to help local girls feel confident, inside and out.
To celebrate four decades in Zanesville, Merle Norman Cosmetics is partnering with BBBSZ for a new initiative. As part of BBBS’s new Herizon program, Merle Norman is inviting Big Sisters and Little Sisters in for makeover days to give them a fun, feel-good activity to share while building confidence along the way.
“It’s an opportunity for these girls to go out, do some girl things, and maybe give girls exposure to things they haven’t been exposed to before. The littles in our program are in need of a positive influence in mentors. So, just giving them that opportunity to go out and feel really good about themselves is really the objective here.” BBBSZ President and CEO, Katie Lupsor said.
The team at Merle Norman says their goal is to make sure every girl, and every costumer, leaves with a smile. And this effort goes beyond beauty. They’re also collecting school supplies for Herizon participants. You can drop off donations at the Zanesville studio.
“Our goal is to always have our customers or guests to leave feeling better than they did when they came in. When we see smiles and our girls having fun, we know we’ve accomplished that.” Owner of Merle Norman, Sharon Shaner said.
Merle Norman is located at 1224 Brandywine Blvd. in Zanesville.
The Herizon program is just one of the many ways BBBS is uplifting young girls in our area. To learn more or to get involved, visit the BBBS of Zanesville website.
