Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

One 8-year-old girl is taking big steps to fight breast cancer.

Jaden Brady’s grandma, Diana Brady, was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of breast cancer, in 2008 and after five years of treatment she is cancer free. To help others with breast cancer, Jaden has created a team to walk in the Make Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Ohio University Zanesville this Saturday.

"It makes me feel really good because it feels like people are now understanding about cancer and wanting to help get rid of it," Jaden said.

Jaden’s team is selling t-shirts and snacks to help raise money for breast cancer research. Twenty six people have signed up to walk along with jaden and her team, which has a rather unique name.

"Usually B.F.F. is best friends forever. We did B.F.F., breast friends forever," Jaden explained how her mom pitched the idea to her. "she said okay Jaden this is the team name, and I was like yeah I want it."

The walk starts at 10 a-m this saturday. You can still register to join a team or walk as an individual at makingstrideswalk.Org/zanesville.
