Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in October

The American Cancer Society is hosting a walk at the OU Zanesville campus October 18th.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk aims to raise money for cancer research. The goal of the walk is to raise money to aid in research to cure the disease. WHIZ is the media sponsor for the event and we spoke to our own Sara Shallcross about the walk.

"Unfortunately a lot of people are affected by breast cancer whether it be a friend, a family, a mom or someone that you know; a friend of a friend even, are affected by breast cancer, Shallcross said. "This walk is kind of helping to continue research to help fight cancer."

To participate in the event you can create your own team or join an existing one.

"You can register, you can donate, you can join us. We’d love to see everyone out there on October 18th joining us in walking to help fight breast cancer," Shallcross said.
