Man Accused of Assaulting Officer Found Competent
A Zanesville man accused of assaulting a police officer appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Monday for a competency hearing.
53-year-old Ronald Holler is charged with felonious assault stemming from an incident back in March of this year.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Zanesville Police responded to a call of shots being fired at a home on Beverly Avenue.
When they arrived on the scene Holler allegedly assaulted one of the officers. Judge Kelly Cottrill ruled that Holler is competent to stand trial.
A hearing will be set at a later date to address Holler’s plea of "not guilty" by reason of insanity. He’s currently being held in the Muskingum County Jail on a $100 ,000 bond.
