The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office said a witness called in just before 2:00 a.m. Caleb Rodgers was traveling west bound on State Route 146 near Clay Pike in his white pick up truck when he came to the curve of the road, veered right and off the road crashing into several trees before passing over Clay Pike and finally into what will be the new administration building for the Mid-East Career and Technology Center.
The witness said it was then that he put his truck in reverse and fled the scene.
The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found a trail of fluid that they followed east bound on 146 until they approached 2900 Pioneer Dr. and discovered the vehicle. They located Rodgers and he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to control a motor vehicle and failure to report an accident.
