Man Facing Six Charges After Chase
A Zanesville man is charged with six counts after police say he led authorities on a high-speed chase.
According to Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox, 38-year-old Keith Stevens is facing two felony charges of failure-to-comply, a felony charge of theft of a motor vehicle, a felony charge of vandalism, a misdemeanor charge of theft and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.
The Zanesville Police Department says Stevens stole a van on Monday, smashed through a fence at AK Steel, sped down Van Horn and then crashed into a pole. They say Stevens then tried to flee on foot and had to be tased.
Wednesday Judge William Joseph set his bond at $45,900 cash and set a preliminary hearing for September 16.
