Man in hospital after being shot

Zanesville Police are investigating a shooting that happened Friday night in front of a Ridge Avenue.

Police were called to the scene on the 1100 block of Ridge Avenue around 10:40. According to police, one man was lying in the road, suffering from a gun shot wound. Police say they do not believe the shooting is connected to the home next to where the man was discovered.

He was transported to the hospital. No word on his condition.

At this time, police say they have no witnesses, and would not comment on possible suspects.

Police would not release further details. The incident is under investigation.
