Man Killed in Presumed Hunting Accident

An area man has died after a presumed hunting accident that resulted in a self inflicted gun shot wound.

According to Ohio Department of Natural Resources spokesman, Mark Bruce, around 8 Sunday evening the family of the middle aged male, found him on private property on Wolfe Run Road. The family called 911 and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. ODNR was called and is now handling the investigation because it is suspected the man was hunting during the accident but that has not been confirmed yet.

The victim’s age and name, are not being released at this time, in order to be sure all next of kin are notified. Bruce says more information regarding the accident should be available soon.
