Man Pleads Guilty in Child Pornography

A Zanesville man has pled guilty to 30 charges dealing with child pornography.

Virgil Montgomery the second made his plea today in Muskingum County Common Pleas court in front of Judge Kelly Cottrill.

He pled guilty to five second-degree-felony charges of use of a minor in nudity oriented material, five fourth-degree-felony charges of use of a minor in nudity oriented material, 10 charges of second-degree-felony pandering obscenity involving a minor, and 10 fourth-degree-felony charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

Judge Cottrill ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Prosecutor Mike Haddox says they did not make a sentence recommendation, but Montgomery could face a total of 142.5 years.

Montgomery remains held in the Muskingum County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
