Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Crimes

A Zanesville man pleads guilty to multiple sex crimes Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.

35-year-old Carlos Orantes plead guilty to one count of rape, a felony of the first degree, and two counts of gross sexual imposition, felonies of the third degree.

Prosecutors recommend Orantes serve 12 years to life in prison for his crimes.

Judge Kelly Cottrill has ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Orantes remains in the Muskingum County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
