Man Pleads Not-Guilty in High-Speed Chase
A Zanesville man pleads not-guilty to charges related to a high-speed chase.
24-year-old Harold Small Junior appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Wednesday and pled not-guilty to a felony charge of failure-to-comply and two misdeameanor charges of driving under suspension and having no motorcycle endorsement.
According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, on August 24 a trooper attempted to pull Small over as he exited Interstate 70 eastbound near the Adamsville exit. Troopers say Small did not pull over and instead led officers with the Patrol, Zanesville Police Department and Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office on a chase through Muskingum County for more than 25 minutes with speeds topping 100-miles-per-hour.
Sgt. Jeremy Mendenhall, with the Zanesville Post, says the chase ended on the West Pike when Small crashed into a median. Mendenhall says Small attempted to then flee on foot and was tased by officers.
