Man Transported to Hospital after Motorcycle Accident

Zanesville Police said a motorcyclist was transported to the hospital after striking a pick-up truck on Sharon Avenue in Zanesville Thursday evening.

Patrolman Derek Schilling said a black Dodge pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Sharon avenue just before 5 p.m. when a black motorcycle traveling right behind rear-ended him. The pick-up truck driver turned on his blinker to turn left onto Fishers Lane when he stopped. Schilling said the motorcyclist caught debris in his eyes and didn’t see that the truck was stopped when he hit him.

The driver of the pick-up truck is expected to be ok, while the motorcyclist was transported to Genesis Hospital with unknown injuries. Schilling said the pick-up truck driver was wearing a seat belt. The accident remains under investigation.
