Morgan Smith Signs NLI To Play Soccer At Muskingum University
ZANESVILLE, OH- One Zanesville Blue Devils Girls Soccer player turned her dream to reality while staying close to home.
Blue Devils senior Morgan Smith signed her National Letter of Intent to take her talents to Muskingum University next year.
Smith was a key defender for Zanesville. She helped secure 11 shutouts while being a member of four sectional title teams. She was also Team Captain and a four-year letter winner while earning Eastern District Second Team honors.
Not only did she excel on the field, but she defined what it meant to be a student-athlete. Smith earned scholar-athlete honors all four years while also receiving an Eastern District Scholastic Award.
Overall, the Zanesville senior said she was excited for her next chapter while also highlighted how grateful she is for her support system.
“I played for a traveling soccer team, so I went hours and hours away for weekends and had to stay in hotel rooms for that. So, that support means everything. Not everybody gets that so it means a lot that I was able to get that,” said Smith.
Smith says she plans on majoring in education at Muskingum University.
