Marie Blumenstock

SUNBURY, OH: Age 83, of Sunbury and Sebring, Florida, Marie P. Blumenstock (Christiana), passed away on November 20, 2024, surrounded in the love of her family at the Inn at Walnut Trail.

Marie was a retired entrepreneur, author, mother, grandmother, and more, including opening the original House of Physical Fitness in 1982, in New Lexington and later South Zanesville.

Her second husband Robert Blumenstock preceded her in death on her birthday, March 7, 2016. Marie’s first husband, Robert W. Fuhrer, passed away at Good Samaritan Medical Center in 1974, leaving Marie to raise their three young children; Robert (Mallory) Fuhrer of Ashburn, VA, Brian (Diana) Fuhrer of Columbus, OH and Linda Bruning (Mac) of Sunbury, OH.
She is also survived by grandchildren: Jennifer and Michael Fuhrer, Hunter Bruning and Nicholas Fuhrer. Dear sister of Betty Fowler and Laverne Wintermantle and the late Dee Haines, Patrick Christiana, Ann Danhires and Grace “Gladys” Gresky; also survived by many nieces and nephews, stepchildren, and many dear friends.

Marie will be remembered as much for her generous spirit of laughter and joy as for her overcoming numerous hardships and challenges. A life well lived.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4PM Sunday, November 24, 2024, THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will follow at 4PM with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to THE SNOUFFER CREMATORY.
