It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Kinney Kenily announces that she has passed due to a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), at 9:16 a.m. on March 25, 2015. Marie was born August 1, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Marie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was employed at Ohio Bell as a long distance operator, Zanesville Safety Center as dispatcher for fire and police. She was also a Cub Scout Leader and had belonged to the Daughters of America. Marie enjoyed reading, traveling, and entertaining her friends, as well as being an avid Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State fan. She cherished the time she spent with her friends & family, but most especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Ed Kenily, whom she married March 26, 1966. Two sons Troy (Shelly) Kenily and Kevin (Shannon) Kenily, four grandchildren, Kadin, Koltin, Peyton and Collin Kenily, one brother Joe (Darla) Gatten of Lancaster, Ohio and her lifelong best friend Janice Gable.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Margie and J.O. Kinney and a sister Carolyn Hare and a brother Charles Kinney.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm Sunday March 29th at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Funeral services, with Pastor Steve McGuire officiating will be held at 11:00 am, Monday March 30th at the funeral home with one hour of visitation prior to service. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
