Marijuana Growing Suspect Sought In Guernsey County

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a big marijuana plant disocovery last week. Detective Bill Patterson says on February 9th two Pennsylvania State Troopers were following up with a crime victim at a home in Londonderry Township when they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from a neighboring abandoned home. Patterson says the troopers contacted the sheriff’s office which got a search warrant, investigated and discovered 100 marijuana plants as part of a sophisticated growing operation that included an automatic watering system and growing lights. Detective Patterson says the plants are valued at $250,000. The suspect is not from the Cambridge area. His name won’t be released until formal charges are filed next week.
