Martha Vogel

Martha Margaret Vogel, 100 of Zanesville died at 12:37 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the The Helen Purcell Home following a long healthy life.
She was born on Tuesday, May 15, 1923 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of John Wheeler and Bessie Geyer Wheeler.
Martha was a member of Pleasant Grove Church and worked at the Ohio Bell Telephone company as an operator in her younger years. She then married and was a homemaker who enjoyed visiting with her Adamsville Road neighbors. She very much enjoyed her crossword puzzle books, was an avid animal lover, enjoyed reading and being active in her church.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Joan (James) Hatfield; 3 nieces, Debbie Reed Meredith and twins, Patsy (Dennis) Rollins and Penny (Brad) Matheney; Nephews, Dan (Chris) Reed and Edward (Mae) Iden; Several great & great great nieces & nephews and her special cousin and neighbor, Pat Wheeler. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Earl “Pete” D. Vogel of 50 years who died October 4, 1997; siblings, Doris Iden, Julia Reed and Bernard Wheeler.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the St. Paul Cemetery with Linda Morrow officiating.
