Marvin Hittle

Marvin E. Hittle Sr., 85 of Frazeysburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at Altercare Nursing Home in Zanesville.
He was born on February 9th, 1940, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Chester Earl Hittle and Mary Marie (Wisecarver) Hittle. Marvin worked for many years as an equipment operator in the coal mines and at Sidwell Materials; and later at Ohio Plastics of Frazeysburg, where he retired after 12 years. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for his Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He loved golfing, fishing, and hunting, especially for rabbits. In his past time, he played on the ‘Hustlers’ fast pitch softball team and later coached men’s softball with his 3 sons. He never met a stranger, and he was known for always telling jokes.
Marvin is survived by his 5 children: Marvin (Janet) Hittle Jr., Mark (Mysti) Hittle, Marla Warne, Mike (Jamie) Hittle, Mary (Scott) Blanton; brother, Ronald Hittle; 9 grandchildren: Brittany Bogner, Amanda Blanton, Anthony Warne, Samantha Gordon, Elizabeth Gast, David Hittle, Craig Hittle, Alicia Vallee, Jenson Hittle; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Malinda “Linda” (Nelson) Hittle; 4 sisters: Judy Hittle, Dorothy Ross, Elsie Carpenter, Louise Buchannon; great granddaughter, Leanne Hittle; and son in law, John Warne.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 7:00 PM with Pastor Seth Ellis officiating.
Marvin will be laid to rest at Frazeysburg Cemetery at a later date with his wife, Linda.
