Mary Caldwell

Mary Josephine Caldwell, 67, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully after a long illness at 10:29 PM on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at the Morrison House of Zanesville.

Mary Jo was born on August 11th, 1956, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Virginia Pauline Caldwell and John Gibson.

Over the years, Mary Jo attended the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, where she was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

She worked at Owens Brockway for 32 years, where she retired in 2005. Mary Jo was a cancer survivor of 19 years. She loved taking long road trips, particularly visiting family out of town and the ocean. When given the opportunity, Mary Jo enjoyed baking cakes and journaling significant family dates and events. Most of all, she loved sharing her time with her family, especially her daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandson, whom she adored.

Mary Jo is survived by one daughter Chasity (Roger) Luman, one granddaughter Mercedes Wheeler, one great-grandson Kayden Wheeler, one brother Donald E. (Leann) Caldwell, one nephew Adam E. (Pamela) Caldwell, two nieces Karrie (Eric) Eveland, and Brittany Dalton, two great nieces and three great nephews and a beloved cousin, James Clifford, all of Zanesville, Ohio. As well as many other close relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving grandparents Charles E. (Cleo) Caldwell and great-grandmother Josephine Tabler, and a beloved uncle and aunt James Clifford (Mary F.) Clifford.

You may call on the family Friday, January 19, 2024, from 11am until 1pm at Burrell Funeral Services. Funeral services will start at 1pm with Elder Brown officiating. Following the funeral, burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
